[May 24, 2020]
Healthcare Network, which provides consultative services for
Generations at Lincoln, has committed to taking extra steps to care
for its staff across a dozen skilled nursing facilities in Illinois
The resident population in skilled nursing facilities
is among the highest at risk for serious side effects from the
COVID-19 virus. That also places the staff that care for them in a
challenging position. How to effectively protect their patients,
themselves and their own families at home?
All Generations Healthcare Network skilled facilities have
implemented safety measures to protect the residents they serve.
Each building is following a non essential visitor restriction
policy. This restricts families, friends, volunteers and even the
method of deliveries within the facility. Numerous infectious
disease trainings have been completed, supplies have been ordered,
creative new activities have been developed, all with the safety of
the residents at the forefront of every decision made.
All of these changes, along with the changes occurring at home and
in our communities, has an effect on healthcare workers. In an
effort to support our team, Generations Healthcare Network has
implemented a temporary wage increase for staff. Effective March,
20, 2020, all hourly employees will receive a $2.00/hr increase for
each hour worked over the next 30 days. This rate increase will be
in effect for current staff as well as new employees.

“Not only do we take care of people, we care for
people.” Bryan Barrish, Principle at Generations Healthcare Network,
stated. “That is really a passion of ours.” Each facility is
providing free meals to staff during work and finding small ways to
thank each of them for coming in and caring for our residents.
