For Saturday, October 4th, the pink shirt picture for the annual Lincoln Daily News Paint the Paper Pink campaign is the fine folks at Woods & Bates Attorneys at Law. For those who may not be aware, Woods & Bates does a lot of work with folks helping them with estate planning, and other tools

The work the firm does helps secure the financial well-being of their clients.

The American Cancer Society is also working for the well being of others, the physical well-being. The ACS has numerous programs that assist cancer warriors throughout their journey, but they are also doing work that will help people be assured of their physical wellbeing.

For example, the ACS is working to get FDA approval for a multi-cancer early detection blood test that will identify in one test probability of Breast, Cervical, Colorectal and Prostate Cancers!

Imagine the implications. For people whose insurance won’t pay for testing without cause, this test can determine whether colonoscopies, mammograms, pap smears are needed.

In addition, most people don’t relish the thought of tests like these. To be able to know without them if there is a concern and to be able to avoid the testing if there is not will be a real game-changer for many.

This blood test will also help with early detection, and science has proven that early detection is key to being able to shift the playbook and go from cancer warrior to cancer survivor.
