The internet is filled with list
after list of what some expert here or there believes are the Top
Ten Moments that changed our world; that changed history. List
differ by author but most repeated some form of these:
The Invention of Writing: 3500 BCE
The Construction of the Pyramids of Giza: 2500 BCE
Christopher Columbus navigating the globe: 1492
Industrial Revolution: 1760
The Elimination of Slavery: 19th century
The Reign of Adolf Hitler: 1933-1946
Creation of the Atomic Bomb: 1945
Man Walking on the Moon: 1969
The Invention of Personal Computers: 1981
But in list after list after list, the Life of Jesus Christ was
considered the number one event that changed our world most. Think
about it, an unimportant little town in an unimportant little region
in an unimportant little country; a simple poor Jewish boy is born!
He never travels further than 200 miles in any one direction, and
yet HE changes the entire world? How can you explain that?

Surprisingly, it wasn’t his miracle
birth, or his authoritative teachings, or even his well witnessed,
well documented, unexplainable miracles. What made all the
difference was one thing: the resurrection. (I Corinthians 15:3-8)
If Jesus simply dies and is buried, so does his memory. But, coming
back to life, that’s difficult to just step over and avoid. If
resurrection is a reality, then that single moment changes
everything. How much longer
are we going to play games with this? Jesus raising from the dead is
the most important event in all of history. And that makes Jesus the
most important decision of your entire life. We’re in a war and you
need to wake up. Satan wants you to believe this is all just
fantasy. God wants you to accept it as truth. You get to choose who
you will listen to. Let this Easter be the moment your faith was
reignited. Let this be the Easter you got back into the game. Join
us this Easter at Lincoln Christian Church.
