LINCOLN, IL – Heartland Bank and Trust
Company has announced that applications are now being accepted for
the 2026 Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship competition.
The scholarship is available to 2026 graduates of Lincoln Community
High School District #404 who will enroll in an accredited teacher
preparation program for the fall 2026 semester. The Larson
scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters for students who
complete 12 or more credit hours per semester and maintain at least
a 3.0 grade-point average.
The scholarship was established in 1994 by Arthur Larson in memory
of his wife, Lucille. Larson taught school for 38 years. She was a
graduate of Lincoln Community High School and attended Lincoln
College, Normal Teachers’ College, and the University of Michigan.
Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to excellence in
education and provided a caring haven for her students.
Applications for the 2026 Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship are
available on the Lincoln Community High School guidance website.
