Lucille Flick Larson Teacher Education Scholarship Available to LCHS Seniors

[February 05, 2025]    LINCOLN, IL – Heartland Bank and Trust Company has announced applications are being accepted for the 2025 Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship competition.

This scholarship is available to 2025 Lincoln Community High School District #404 graduates enrolling into an accredited teacher preparation program for the 2025 fall semester. The Larson scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters when the student completes 12 or more credit hours per semester, maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and remains enrolled in a teacher-education program.
 
This scholarship was established in 1994 by Arthur Larson in memory of his wife Lucille. Mrs. Larson taught school for 38 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, and she also attended Lincoln College, Normal Teachers’ College and the University of Michigan. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to excellence in education and provided a caring haven for her students.
 
Applications for the 2025 Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship are available on the LCHS Guidance Office website. Students may also email Marty Orris at mjorris@hbtbank.com for an application. Please submit applications and letters of recommendation electronically in PDF format to Marty Orris, vice president and senior wealth advisor. No paper copies will be accepted this year.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025.
