Section 9
FFA Livestock Judging CDE
That’s a winner! Olympia FFA placed
1st at the recent Section 9 FFA Livestock Judging CDE! Our high
individual was Trayson Miller (4th overall)! Finley Hoffman placed
10th overall and Kennadie Finchum was 11th! Other team members
included: Luke Prestegaard, Vivian Frerichs, Chase Byrne, Lily
Walsh, Virginia Frerichs, Lauryn Snider, Jena Boesdorfer, Summer
Berlin, Calvin Fonger, Cooper Gordon, Reese Hurley, Violet Frerichs,
and Anna Gordon.
Olympia was the host today at Four Rocks Arena near Delavan. Special
thanks to the livestock producers who provided animals for the
classes: Frerichs Brothers Cattle, Hoffman Sheep Farm, Craig Family
Goats, Burkhart Farms, Deal Family, and Smith Farms. Also the FFA
Alumni that helped things run smoothly: Joan & Bill Harrison, Katie
Rader, Gina Schaefer. We also had several FFA members who helped
coordinate the event! And of course Mrs. Baer who organized
everything!

LUC 6 Envirothon
competition
The Olympia FFA Envirothon team placed
5th at the LUC 6 Envirothon Competition at the Dewitt County
Fairgrounds in Clinton.
Anna Gordon, Kennadi Ballenger, Brenna
Doyle, Morgan Buatte, Levi Hanlin, Chase Byrne, Jackson Myers,
Kaylee Moser, Kaitlin Jacobs, and Alanna Mahoney completed tests on
the following topics: wildlife, forestry, soils, aquatics, and
pollution. Professionals in natural resources provided presentations
prior to each test. Everyone learned a lot today!
