LINCOLN, IL – Lincoln Community High School
graduating senior Isabella “Izzy” Miller has been selected as the
newest recipient of the Lucille Flick Larson Trust Scholarship.
Izzy is the daughter of Dale and Shelly Miller of Lincoln. She plans
to attend Illinois State University and pursue a degree in
History-Social Sciences Education with a goal of teaching at the
high school level.
Mr. Arthur Larson established a scholarship trust in 1994 as a
permanent memorial for his wife, Lucille Flick Larson. Mrs. Larson
taught school for 38 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community
High School, and she attended Lincoln College, Normal Teachers’
College, and the University of Michigan. Throughout her career she
dedicated herself to excellence in education and provided a caring
haven for her students. Heartland Bank and Trust Company is the
trustee of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust.
Awardees receive at least $1,250 per semester for up to eight
semesters of their undergraduate career if they maintain a “B”
average and continue studies toward a teaching degree. Only
graduating seniors of Lincoln Community High School are eligible for
selection.
