The Washington-Monroe School PTO was looking for a
way to earn money for the school while also engaging families from
the community.
Using the same plan as the reward system for students, but on a much
larger scale, they decided to try a family fun day for all families
in the whole community.
The funds raised through this carnival are used to support various
types of classrooms learning and aid in providing fun experiences
for the students throughout the school year. Such fun activities
include the funding for an annual trip for all students to the
movies during the holiday season, year-end activities, and the
yearly bounce house day.

The dedicated parents and
teachers at this school are beyond excited that Saturday’s
Community Carnival turned out so well despite the wet, cooler
weather. The PTO is hoping that this will be the first of many
more annual carnivals, although they may be switching up the
month to try and position it with a warmer time of year!
