On Monday night, Logan County 40 & 8
Voiture 985 presented one of their nursing scholarships.
Commander Mike Kavanaugh called the meeting to order, and everyone
in attendance stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. Dan Benedict
presented the financial report, and the members discussed possible
fundraising opportunities and presenting another nursing
scholarship.

Then, they presented a $1,500
scholarship to Heartland Community College student, Mesa McCloud.
Mesa thanked them as she received the scholarship check. Mesa plans
to finish out her nursing education at Illinois State University or
the University of Illinois. Her family was there as she received the
scholarship.

towards the Voiture supporting our county-wide scholarships for
nurses training.” Pictured are Commander Mike Kavanaugh, raffle
winner Bill Sanders, and Jeremy Wells of Wells Firearms.
They will also be selling ribeye and
pork chop sandwiches on July 25 and October 24 at the IGA in
