A hot, sunny day was the perfect
atmosphere for a swim at the Lincoln Park District Aquatic Center
for its final Family Fun Day of the summer on Saturday, August 8. An
“Avengers” theme with decorations, photo opportunities, and games
kept kids and families entertained.
Lifeguard and event organizer Mattea McFadden said, “This is the
best weather we have had for a Family Fun Day so far! We have had a
pretty good turn out. We have a photo wall and games on the water
slide.”

Admission to Avengers Family Fun
Day was a nonperishable, non-expired item for the Lincoln-Logan Food
Pantry. Regular pool admission and pool passes are also accepted on
Family Fun Days. Family Fun Day was moved from Fridays the last
several summers to Saturdays this summer so more families could
participate.
Family Fun Day themes are chosen at the end of each summer by the
lifeguards who brainstorm new theme ideas and then vote on their
favorites. The top three become the Family Fun Day themes for the
following summer. McFadden is polling the current lifeguard staff
this month for next summer’s Family Fun Day themes.
