It was a gloomy and humid evening
for Mt. Pulaski’s last 2nd Friday on the Square event before they
end the season with their Fall Festival next month. Several vendors
and food trucks were set up and ready to celebrate the “Back to
School Beach Bash.”
Plenty of vendors were available for shopping. Boutiques were ready
to help shoppers choose a concert, fair, or back-to-school outfit,
plus hair accessories, bags, jewelry, and hats. You Are Fashion
Boutique had a colorful display of hair clips and a selection of
fashion to transition from summer to fall. Lace and Hide was ready
to help you choose a cute concert look or a hat to top off your
outfit. Several vendors also offered colorful, crocheted creatures,
baked goods, coins, and candles, among others. Howe Home Made
featured a variety of sourdough breads and mini-cakes, and Mcluvn
Made featured several flavors of cake pops. Lighted Luxury Candles &
Scents was there with a selection of candles, wax melts, and car
fragrances.

Children could enjoy an array of
activities sponsored by the community and area businesses. Kids
could display their artwork, paint rocks at the library, and craft
at Market on the Hill. Balloons by Isaac was creating special
balloon animals for children and was showing off his latest green
creation. Vonderlieth sponsored a bubble station where several
children were enjoying creating large bubbles. Longview Community
Bank also had a booth with several jumbo yard games, including
Connect 4, Jenga, and Tic Tac Toe. Face painting, glitter tattoos,
and glitter hair extensions were also available for some
back-to-school sparkle.

For a bite to eat, there were
plenty of options. Boomer’s BBQ, Warrensburg Taco Truck, The Daily
Wrap, Spiedie Wagon, and Nectar Urban Cantina. While eating,
attendees could enjoy listening to Micro Space as they played
several popular covers.
The Mt. Pulaski Fall Festival will take place September 11-12th.
There will be several bands, a tractor and car show, garage sales,
and Charlie Bingo.
