Trunk or Treat at Keokuk Village makes for good Friday night entertainment

[October 27, 2026]

Community members and organizations gathered to host a Trunk or Treat event at Keokuk Village on Friday, October 23rd evening. It was a pleasant fall evening as the sun set and excitement for Halloween grew.

Bryan Clark State Farm hosted the event, and about 10 trunks were decorated with different themes and ready to hand out Halloween treats.

One theme was Jurassic Park, with a large inflatable dinosaur. One booth was 50s-themed and another 80s disco; a couple had more classic Halloween decorations.

Tremont Bank had a booth with an automatic treat machine, jack-o-lanterns, and Halloween music playing in the background. Another spooky trunk had jack-o-lanterns and ghosts hanging from its hatchback. One setup included a haunted jack-o-lantern arch with a cauldron full of candy.

A few seniors even joined in on the fun of visiting with the trick-or-treaters.

Cookie Monster also seemed to be a big hit, growling as each child passed by and sharing his sweet treats with them.

The trick-or-treaters were dressed as superheroes, Wizard of Oz characters, karate kids, firemen, and vampires, among others.
