Tom Mauhar and Barbara Jean Joos were united in
marriage on June 21, 1975, at
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Peoria.
Tom from Overland Missouri and Barbara from East Peoria met teaching
school at Lincoln Elementary Schools District 27. Barbara taught
third grade and kindergarten before teaching twenty-two years in
first grade.
Tom taught physical education in grades K – 6 and special education.
Teach taught for thirty-two years. Tom also coached wrestling in
Junior High and soccer in high school.
Tom and Barbara are the parents of a daughter Amy (Christ) and two
sons, Jason (Ashleigh) and David (Meghan). They have eight
grandchildren: Anne, Brian, Arrington, Addisynn, Hollis, Asher, Zane
and Wilder. Tom and Barbara will celebrate
50 years of marriage with a trip to Kauai in February.
