Central Illinois Unites for Mental Health Awareness Month: Local
Resources and Support
[May 29, 2025]
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and organizations across
Central Illinois are joining together to promote mental well-being,
raise awareness about mental health challenges, and connect individuals
and families to life-changing local resources.
This year’s theme, “Turn Awareness into Action,” encourages individuals,
organizations, and policymakers to move beyond simply understanding
mental health issues and to actively take steps to support those
affected and advocate for change. “Now more than ever, it’s critical for
people to know that help is available,” said Kara Davis, Director of
Nursing at the Logan County Department of Public Health. “Whether you’re
dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply need someone to talk
to, there are trusted resources right here in Central Illinois.”
Local Mental Health Resources Include:
• Trillium Place: Offering mental health services, addiction
recovery services, and DUI services. Learn more at
www.trilliumplacehealth.org.
• Heritage Behavioral Health Center (Decatur): Provides crisis
management, children’s mental health services, substance use treatment,
and peer support programs. Visit

• McLean County Center for Human Services (Bloomington):

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed nationally since
1949 and each year brings new momentum to address stigma, expand
services, and highlight personal stories of resilience. Central
Illinois providers, schools, nonprofits, and health departments are
stepping up with powerful partnerships to ensure no one feels alone
in their mental health journey.
