Obituary
Terry Dean Moore, 73,
of Elkhart, IL., passed away on Saturday, January 3,
2026, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Terry was born on August 10, 1952, in Lincoln, IL.,
the son of Harold Dean “Pick” and Gladys Lorene
(Scott) Moore. He married Nancy Jane Ingram on
October 7, 1972 in Sherman, IL. They were married
for 49 years before Nancy Jane’s passing on February
2, 2021.
Terry is survived by his three children, Tyler
Moore, Tara (Aaron) Larson, and Travis (Sarah)
Moore; four grandchildren, Briar, Trey, Tinlee, and
Blane. Also surviving are his two brothers, Scott
(Tami) Moore, and Tom (Theresa) Moore; his
mother-in-law, Gladys Guinn, and brother-in-law,
Richard Ingram; as well as several nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, “Pick” and
Gladys Moore; his wife, Nancy Jane; and his older
brother, Alan Moore.
Terry was born and raised in Mt. Pulaski, graduating
from Mt. Pulaski High School in 1970. He attended
Lincoln College and then joined the Illinois Army
National Guard. After his service in the guard,
Terry went to work for the Department of Corrections
for many years. He then went to work in private
security for different companies before retiring.

He was an avid sports
fan and enjoyed watching the Oakland Raiders
Football, the New York Yankees and the St. Louis
Cardinals. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball
with his brothers for many years, and always enjoyed
visiting with people in the community.
Terry never knew a
stranger. He spent 20 years on the Elkhart Village
Board, serving as both Mayor and Village Trustee.
Most of all, Terry enjoyed coaching his kids
baseball teams, and loved to watch his kids and
grandkids play sports.
Funeral Services for
Terry will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January
10, 2026 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Mt. Pulaski with Scott Moore officiating. Visitation
will take place for 2 hours prior to the service,
from 9:00 to 11:00am also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service at Elkhart Cemetery
with Military Honors. Memorials can be made in
Terry’s memory to Lincoln Land Down Syndrome Society
(LLDSS).
