[January 04, 2025]  LINCOLN - Timothy L. “Tim” Bennett, 73, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Service:  A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1:00-3:00pm at The Knights of Columbus in Lincoln, IL.

Obituary

Timothy L. “Tim” Bennett, 73, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Tim was born June 8, 1951, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Lloyd and Marian (Sorenson) Bennett. He married Vicky (Rempe) Thompson on January 20, 1990, in Elkhart, IL. She survives.

Tim is also survived by his stepdaughters, Sara (Rod Purdue) Thompson and Lisa Thompson; grandchildren, Brittney and Aiden Purdue; and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Haddie Brisard. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharon (Bob) Strupp, Carla (Randy) Mayes, Brian Bennett, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tim retired from Ag Land FS in Lincoln after working there for over forty years. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. Tim enjoyed golfing, maintaining his lawn, and loved his grandchildren more than anything.
 

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1:00-3:00pm at The Knights of Columbus in Lincoln, IL. (Casual attire is requested) Memorials may be made in Tim’s memory to either the American Cancer Society or Second Chance for Pets in Clinton, IL.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
