[January 23, 2025]  LINCOLN - Stephen “Butch” Brandt Jr., 83, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, IL.

Service:  Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. following visitation at the church

Obituary

Lincoln - Stephen “Butch” Brandt Jr., 83, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Butch was born on March 22, 1941, in Lincoln, IL, the son of Stephen and Geraldine (Radmacher) Brandt Sr. He married Barbara Hertzfeldt on May 11, 1968, in Lincoln. She survives.

Butch is also survived by his children, Stephen (Terri) Brandt, Dawn (David) Cox, Donald Brandt, Kelly (Tom) Tripplett, and Katherine (Jeff) Kallem; thirteen grandchildren, Joshua and Katy Brandt, Jonathan, Anna, Noah, and Jacob Cox, Brittany, Josiah, Sarah, and Faith Brandt, Elizabeth and Victoria Tripplett, and Joey Case; one great-grandson, Rogan Cox; and his dog, Rocky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Brandt; and his sister, Nancy Luehring.

A memorial service for Butch will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Visitation will take place one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the church. A burial will follow the service at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in Butch’s name to Zion Lutheran Church or School in Lincoln. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
