[February 06, 2026]  LINCOLN -  Steven Ray Benedict, 54, of Lincoln, passed away February 2, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation: Friday February 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Service: Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary

Steven Ray Benedict, 54, of Lincoln, passed away February 2, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation is from 11 AM until 1 PM Friday, February 13, 2026, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 PM with Pastor Josh from Abundant House of Praise officiating. Burial will follow in Elkhart Cemetery.

"Stevie" was born November 20, 1971, in Lincoln, IL., the son of Raymond Benedict Sr. and Beverly (Harris) Phillips. He was an avid Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and Michigan fan. He was formerly employed as a brick mason. He was a free spirit and lived his life wide open with no regrets.

Survivors include his two children: Dylan Benedict, and Kaylie Benedict (Morgan), his mother Beverly Phillips, his siblings Tina Benedict-Guzman (Larry), Dawn Phillips-Osborn (Jason), Barb Ferguson, and Beverly Geriets (Jody);

grandson Stetson; very close friend Waylon Turner; nieces and nephew Sara Baker, Mason Baker, and Destiny Hart; caretaker Emilee Frakes, and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, his brother Raymond "Bubby" Benedict, and great niece Novalee.

Memorial donations may be made to Holland Barry & Bennett funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
