Obituary
Daniel L. “Dan” Ormond, 66, of
Lincoln, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 18,
2025, at his home.
Dan was born December 10, 1958, in Quincy, IL, the
son of Bernard and Marian (Cramsey) Ormond. He
married Toni D. Myers in 1977.
Dan is survived by his wife, Toni; his children,
Matthew Ormond and Rebekah Ormond (Cody Kauffman);
five grandchildren, Dean, Hunter, Gavin, Dylan, and
Duke; and his siblings, Bernard Ormond Jr., Larry
(Penny) Ormond, Mark Ormond, Tammy (Denny) Knuffman,
Samuel (Beth) Ormond, Nicki Field, and Joseph (Dawn)
Ormond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joshua
Ormond; sister-in-law, Kathy Ormond; and grandson,
Holland Ormond.
Dan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in World
Mission and Church Growth from Lincoln Christian
College in 1992. He served churches in South
Portland, ME, Rushville, IL, and served as pastor
for the last 24 years at Colmar Christian Church in
Colmar, IL. Dan was also as an honorary dismantler
by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard due to his recycling
and donation efforts for the hungry. He was an
umpire for the IHSA for 20 years and donated
platelets for over 15 years. He worked in the
maintenance department at Lincoln Christian
University for 24 years and the last two and a half
years at O’Reilly Auto Parts. |

His favorite and least favorite day
of the year was the annual all day golf outing with
his brothers, nephews, and friends. On the day of
the outing, Dan was excited but then was sad to have
to wait another year to enjoy it again. Most of all,
Dan was a family man, and his greatest joy was
surrounding himself with his family. He was always
there to help fix any problems, and if someone
needed a hug, he would give it. Dan was always
excited to see others and visit; and would always
greet you with a smile and warm embrace. He will be
missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Dan will be held at 10:00 am on
Friday, February 21, 2025, at Jefferson Street
Christian Church in Lincoln. Visitation will take
place the night prior, Thursday, February 20, 2025,
from 4:00 - 7:00 pm also at the church. Burial will
follow the services at New Union Cemetery in
Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
in honor of Dan to Harvest of Talents at Lincoln
Christian Church, The American Red Cross, or Lincoln
Christian University.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
