Peggy D. Means, 66, of Mason City, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Born on November 16, 1958, in Lincoln, Peggy was the daughter of Calvin Krusemark and Shirley Spurling. She married John Means on December 21, 2001, in Havana.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, John; her children, Colleen Baker of Mason City, Melissa (Shawn) Wheeler of Petersburg, and Kyle (Jessica) Baker of Florida; her stepson, Joe (Allison) Means of Springfield; and her five cherished grandchildren: Blake, Leah, Charlotte, George, and Everett. She also leaves behind her sister, Nancy (Larry) Gunterman of Lincoln and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Oliver.

A 1976 graduate of Mason City High School, Peggy was a dedicated entrepreneur, co-owning PJ’s and Jack and Jo’s restaurants in Mason City. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she found great joy in her faith and community. Peggy had a passion for the arts, spending her time painting, teaching children to create, making jewelry, and cooking. Her love for God, her family, and her church was unwavering.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City, officiated by Pastor Brandon Sullivan. Burial will follow at Big Grove Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
