Obituary
Larry Newman, 77, of Rockford passed
away on Thursday, March 13, 2024.
Larry was born December 19, 1947, in Lincoln, the
son of Robert and Madge Newman. He married Deborah
Dishinger in Chicago on October 19, 1974.
He and Debbie moved to Rockford.
Larry was a teacher at Eisenhower and Lincoln Middle
Schools and East High School. He later spent many
years teaching at Boylan High School and was head
golf coach where he won the Boys State Golf
Championship in 2002.
He is survived by his four sons; John, Charles,
David and James Newman and his grandchildren Lucas,
Max, Mason and Savanna.
He was preceded in death by his wife Debbie, parents
and his brother Steve.
Fitzgerald Funeral home in Rockford is handling
arrangements for the family.
