Obituary
Ruth Ann McCormick, 90, of Emden, IL,
passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Castle
Manor in Lincoln.
Ruth was born September 15, 1934, in Pekin, IL, to
Marion and Mary Mabel (Tunis) Nieukirk. She married
John B. McCormick on September 19, 1954. He preceded
her in death in 2002.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cleola (Mike)
Fletcher; grandchildren, Shauna (Aaron) Wetherell,
Tasha (Aaron) McDougle, Blaen Fletcher, Justin
(Brandy) McCormick, and Ashleigh Klapp; her
step-grandsons, Travis and Paul Fletcher;
great-grandchildren, Blake Martin, Alexis and Adelyn
Wetherell, Austin and Bentley McCormick, Anna and
Luke McDougle, Rylan Klapp, and Maddox Fletcher.
Additionally Ruth is survived by many
great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces, Martha
(Greg) Schleining and Leann (Marty) Nieukirk.

She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, John; son, Ralph McCormick;
grandchildren, Jeremy, Amanda, and Miranda
McCormick; and her brother, Donald Nieukirk.
Funeral Services for Ruth will be held at 11:00 am
on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will take place one hour prior from 10:00
am to 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Burial will
follow the service at Bethel Cemetery in Emden, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ruth’s
name to Tremont United Methodist Church or Bethel
Church in Emden.
