- James W. “Jim” Luster, Jr., 78, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on
Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Lincoln Village Healthcare Center in
Lincoln.

Obituary
James W. “Jim” Luster,
Jr., 78, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Thursday,
April 2, 2026, at the Lincoln Village Healthcare
Center in Lincoln.
Jim was born on March 14, 1948, in Harrisburg, IL,
the son of James W. Luster, Sr., and Lois Joiner. He
married Christy (Wagner) Davis on June 14, 1980, at
St. John Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski. She
survives.
Jim is also survived by two children from a previous
marriage, Jamee Sherley and Christopher Luster; 2
stepchildren, Brad (Jody Stewart) Davis and Bruce
(Carissa) Davis; brother, Richard Luster; and
sister, Peggy (LaVern) Winters. He is also survived
by numerous grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.
Jim owned and operated
Superior Tree Service, and he also worked at Inland
Tool in Mt. Pulaski for many years. |
He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, and being outdoors. Jim will be missed by
all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life for Jim will take place from
3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at The
Old Brickyard Grill and Pub (105 S. Lafayette St.,
Mt. Pulaski, IL.). Memorials may be made in his
memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mt. Pulaski.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
