Mark W. Overholser, 54, of Atlanta, formerly of Bloomington, passed
away at Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 2, 2026. |

Service:
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April
24, 2026, at Crawford’s Pub in Bloomington from 5
p.m. – 9 p.m.

Obituary
Mark W. Overholser,
54, of Atlanta, formerly of Bloomington, passed away
at Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 2,
2026.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Celebration of
Life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at
Crawford’s Pub in Bloomington from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00
p.m.
Mark W. Overholser was born August 28, 1971, in
Normal, the son of Wayne E. and Joyce A. Auth
Overholser. They preceded Mark in death.
Mark is survived by his children: Celeste Knebel and
Mark Barnhill; three grandchildren: Nevaeh Thome,
Nirvana Sinclair, and Novagean Sinclair; one
brother, Tim (Diane) Overholser; his life partner of
17 years, Cassi Crull; and step-father Mark Hitzner.
Mark had worked in construction. He was proud of
having been baptized and serving as an altar boy for
St. Patrick’s Church in Bloomington.
He was very talented
at martial arts and had a passion for survival
knowledge. Mark was proud of his achievements in MMA
fighting with Coffrin’s ATA Martial Arts.

He was a huge fan of
“The Doors” and loved anything to do with Halloween.
Mark adored his cats and made a habit of feeding
strays. He loved the small-town life of Atlanta. It
also gave him great joy to reconnect with his
daughter and grandchildren these past few years.
Mark will be forever
in his loved ones’ hearts and will be greatly missed
by his family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Mark’s family, in care of
Celeste Knebel, or to Home Sweet Home Ministries in
Bloomington.
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta is assisting
the family.
