Obituary
Ione M. Davison, 92,
of Dawson, IL, (formerly of Middletown, IL), passed
away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at her home in Dawson,
with her family by her side.
Ione was born on February 1, 1934, in Springfield,
IL, the daughter of Raymond and Vada (Bosaw)
Leinweber. She married John Davison on June 22,
1952, in Minooka, IL. John preceded her in death on
November 30, 2017.
Ione is survived by two children, Julie (Rex Gill)
Brown, and Gail (Karen) Davison; grandchildren, Gina
Welchel, Matt Davison, Cody Davison, and Jon Brown;
her numerous great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren, and her siblings,
Phyllis, Joyce, Ronnie, and Art.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband;
two grandsons, Jeremy Brown and Jason Brown; her
great-granddaughter, Mackenzy Brown; and her
great-great-grandson, Hudson Brown.

Ione enjoyed making
crafts for both her friends and family; whether it
was sewing, knitting, or crochet she could often be
found keeping busy with her crafting. She was also
known for canning, especially her strawberry jam,
blackberry jelly, and all of her vegetables from her
garden. Ione’s favorite hobby was collecting; she
has possibly the largest collection of salt & pepper
shakers in Illinois. Above all, Ione loved her
family.
A celebration of
Ione’s life will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 8,
2026, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Visitation will take place prior to the
service from 4:00 to 7:00 pm also at the funeral
home. Burial will be at Irish Grove Cemetery in
Middletown at a later date. Memorials may be made in
Ione’s memory to Middletown Methodist Church.
