Donald "Donny" O. Jones, 77, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday,
May 7, 2026, at Copper Creek Villages in Lincoln. |

Service: A
Celebration of Donny's Life will be held on
Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00
p.m. at the Lincoln American Legion Post #263.

Obituary
Donald "Donny" O.
Jones, 77, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, May
7, 2026, at Copper Creek Villages in Lincoln.
A Celebration of Donny's Life will be held on
Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00
p.m. at the Lincoln American Legion Post #263.
Donny's Schnitzel's will be served from1:00 p.m.
until 2:00 p.m. and chicken will be served after
2:00 p.m.
Private family burial will be on Tuesday, May 26,
2026, at the New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Military
Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #263.
Donald O. Jones was born on January 26, 1949, in
Lincoln, the son of Seymour John and Gloria Cecelia
Powers Jones.
He is survived by his companion of fourteen years:
LaVerne "Verny" Robb; his brother: Tom Jones, Tom's
children: Lea (Matt) Anderson, Tate (Kendra) Jones,
and Kyle (Stacey) Jones; sister-in-law Gail Jones;
his brother: Rick (Shannon) Jones; Rick's children:
Angela (Adam Maxwell) Jones and Amber (Kevin) Broude;
and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother: David Lee Jones.
Donny graduated from the Lincoln Community High
School in 1967 and later graduated from Lincoln Land
Community College. He served in the United States
Marine Corps. |

He retired as a Park
Ranger at Madigan State Park after 30 years of
service. Donny also worked at the American Legion
Post #263 in maintenance.
He was a member of the Lincoln Eagles Aerie #2708
and American Legion Post #263 where he also
volunteered to help cook Schnitzel and Chicken
dinners. Donny helped to rebuild the American Legion
Post #623 building after the devasting fire. His
other hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson
motorcycle, hunting and fishing in Alaska and
locally.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post
#263 or Lincoln Eagles Aerie #2708.
Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with
arrangements.
