[May 29, 2025]  LINCOLN - Florence Marie House (Malerich) passed away on May 15th at the age of 99 in Plano, Texas. She was born to Violet and Edward Malerich in Lincoln, Illinois on March 18, 1926.

Service:  Private family services for Florence will be held at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.

Obituary

Florence Marie House (Malerich) passed away on May 15th at the age of 99 in Plano, Texas. She was born to Violet and Edward Malerich in Lincoln, Illinois on March 18, 1926.

Florence was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Lincoln College. After college, she answered a recruiting effort out of Chicago for Pan American Airlines and flew internationally for three years. After Pan Am, she returned to Lincoln and married Mason House of Lincoln, Illinois. She worked for many years as a secretary at the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and enjoyed many decades of a successful real estate career in Lincoln. She enjoyed many lifelong friends from Lincoln, and was a 50-plus year member of PEO. Later in life, she moved to the Dallas area to be with family and worked at Talbots in the Dallas Galleria, achieving national sales awards before her retirement at age 83.

Florence was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Mason House; infant daughter, Jean Ann; daughter, Stephanie House of Addison, Texas; and brothers, Edward and James Malerich of Lincoln, Illinois.

Florence is survived by her son, Randy (Debbie Franklin) House of Plano, Texas; daughter, Kimberly House of Pensacola, Florida; five grandchildren, Parker (Briana) House of Highland Village, Texas; Harrison (Traci) House of The Woodlands, Texas; Spencer House of Los Angeles, California; and Sarah Grace and Mary Catherine Lykins of Pensacola, Florida; two great-grandsons, Waylon and Henry House; a great-granddaughter, Holland House; and many nieces and nephews.

Florence was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was always “up for fun” and her favorite time was time spent with her family. She was very kindhearted and lived a life of gratitude.

Private family services for Florence will be held at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may in her memory to The First Presbyterian Church – Lincoln or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln has been entrusted with arrangements.
