[June 25, 2026]  ATLANTA - Linda R. Van Hoorn, 84, of Atlanta, passed away at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Service:  Graveside Services for Linda and “Junior” will be held at a later date, followed by a celebration of their lives.

Linda R. Van Hoorn, 84, of Atlanta, passed away at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside Services for Linda and “Junior” will be held at a later date, followed by a celebration of their lives.

Linda R. Sullivan was born September 22, 1941, in Atlanta, the daughter of Raymond H. and Irma Hafley Sullivan. She was united in marriage to Paul “Junior” Van Hoorn, Jr. on October 16, 1960. He preceded Linda in death on November 15, 2025.

Linda is survived by two daughters: Kelly (Tim) Lamkin and Cheryl (Mike Simpson) Root, seven grandchildren: Tim (Erin) Lamkin, Jr., Andy (Bernice) Lamkin, Alex (Melissa) Lamkin, Brittney (Will) Pries, Tyler Cook, Brandon (Alyssa) Root, Desiree (Tyler) Pitsch; and great-grandchildren: Addie, Braden, Brynn, Ella, Sophie, Camryn, Christian, Jacob, Jack, Cecilia, Sean, ShaeLynn, Ryatt, and Wes; and one brother, David.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Buddy, and one grandson, Cameron Cook.
 

Linda was a graduate of Atlanta High School. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 38 years, most of which was spent working as an Agency Compensation Specialist. She was a member of Toastmasters International, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and tending to her hummingbirds. Linda absolutely adored her grandchildren and being called “Grandma on the Farm.”

Memorials may be made to Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington or Olympia FFA.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta is assisting the family with arrangements.
