[June 30, 2026]  LINCOLN - James E. “Jim” Follis, 80, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his home.

Service:  A private family graveside service for Jim will be held at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.

James E. “Jim” Follis, 80, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his home.

Jim was born on August 26, 1945, in Vallejo, CA, the son of Jack and Dorothy (Gifford) Follis. He married Sharon K. McAllister on February 22, 2002, in Lincoln, IL.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Brian Follis; stepsons, Robert “Todd” McAllister, Kevin (Karri) Eimer, and A.C (Tia) Hutchcraft III; stepdaughter, Dawn (Ben) Davis; three brothers, Robert (Barbara) Follis, Jerry (Maureen) Follis, Jon (Debbie) Follis; several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brad Follis; and brother, Jack Follis.

Jim proudly served in the US Army from 1965 - 1967. He worked at Lehn and Fink in shipping and receiving for thirty-three years. Jim also worked in the maintenance department for five years at Lincoln College and farmed in Logan County for several years.

His favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Fighting Illini. When not rooting on his favorite teams, Jim enjoyed working on puzzles and spending time with his family.

A private family graveside service for Jim will be held at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in Jim’s name to The American Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
