[June 29, 2026]  LINCOLN - John Edward "Jack" Welch, 80, of Lincoln, passed away June 26, 2026 at Copper Creek Cottages, Lincoln.

Visitation:  July 1, 2026, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Service: Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

John Edward "Jack" Welch, 80, of Lincoln, passed away June 26, 2026 at Copper Creek Cottages, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, July 2, 2026 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Laenna Cemetery.

Jack was born September 3, 1945, in Lincoln, IL., the son of Leo and Cecelia (Walsh) Welch. He married Donna Faye (Hagan) on June 13, 1979. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2022. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He graduated from St, Mary's school and from LCHS in 1963. Jack enjoyed working on small engines; lawnmowers, tractors, and farm equipment. He worked at Westens, Archer Daniels Midland, and eventually owned J&W equipment services. Jack enjoyed yardwork, gardening, fishing, and visiting Beason Chestnut Park.

He will be missed by his sons Ashley (Sara) Welch, Tracy (Annette) Welch, and Jerry Welch; grandchildren: Trevor (Dolly) Welch, Kayla Welch, Haley Welch, and Alyssa (Zain) Baloch; sisters Sheila Davison and Rita Bakken also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Donna, his faithful canine companion Jaxi, and his brother Dennis Welch.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Logan County and will be accepted at the funeral home.
