Cemetery.

Obituary
Hildur M. Tibbs, 92,
of Atlanta, passed away at Arcadia of Bloomington on
Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Graveside Services for Hildur will be held on
Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Atlanta
Cemetery. Mr. Darren Leesman will officiate.
Hildur M. Huneke was born on September 19, 1933, in
Lincoln, the daughter of Anton P. and Matilda Mapes
Huneke. She was united in marriage to James L. Tibbs
on October 21, 1951. He preceded Hildur in death on
August 14, 1996.
Hildur is survived by three children: Barb Ipsen,
Mark Tibbs, and Elizabeth (Dan) Hunter; twelve
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several
great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert
Huneke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son,
James Wayne Tibbs, and one daughter, Beverly Gordon. |
Hildur was a 1951
graduate of New Holland-Middletown High School. She
had worked as a CNA at Bartman Nursing Home. Hildur
was a member of Eminence Christian Church and
enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening, flowers, and
loved her cat, Autumn.
Memorials in her memory may be made to the Atlanta
Rescue Squad.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
