[July 17, 2026]  NORMAL - Anna Jean Ballinger Winn, 96, of Normal, formerly of Atlanta, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at The Loft Rehabilitation & Nursing of Normal.

Visitation:  Monday, July 20, 2026 from 10 - 11 a.m at the Atlanta Christian Church in Atlanta, IL.

Service:  Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the church.

Obituary

Anna Jean Ballinger Winn, 96, of Normal, formerly of Atlanta, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at The Loft Rehabilitation & Nursing of Normal.

Services will be held at the Atlanta Christian Church in Atlanta, IL, on Monday, July 20, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 a.m. led by Mr. Brent Salm. Burial will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.

Anna Jean Jones was born November 16, 1929, in Warnick County, Indiana, the daughter of Ernest H. and Eva M. Perigo Jones. She was married to Lowell Ballinger from December 21, 1947, until his death on March 31, 1996. She then married Elwin Ballinger on June 10, 2001. He preceded Anna Jean in death on November 11, 2002. Anna Jean was then united in marriage to Don Winn on June 18, 2005, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2019.

Anna Jean is survived by five children: Lloyd Mitchell (Laurie) Ballinger, Kathleen (David) McFadden, Nancy (Wesley) Melton, Bryan (Geraldine) Ballinger, and Russell (Jeana) Ballinger; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ballinger; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Delores Jordan in Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Ballinger; and seven grandchildren: Tony, Mindi, Tina, Makena, Michael, Brian, and Geoff, in addition to three husbands, five brothers, two sisters, and her parents.

Anna Jean had worked at Brokaw, Mennonite, and St. Joseph hospitals, along with the Atlanta Library and Atlanta Grade School. She was a member of College Park Christian Church, volunteer at the David Davis Mansion, and Hands All Around Quilt Guild of Bloomington-Normal.

Memorials may be made to Atlanta Christian Church.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
