Sharon “Sherri” Powell, age 73, of Williamsville, passed away July
21, 2026 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois
surrounded by her loving family.

Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.

Sharon “Sherri”
Powell, age 73, of Williamsville, passed away July
21, 2026 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in
Springfield, Illinois surrounded by her loving
family.
Sherri was born on May 16, 1953 in Springfield,
Illinois, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Dains)
Davis.
Mourning her passing are her husband, Chuck;
children, Bill (wife Robyn) Powell, Zach (wife
Becky) Powell, and Katie (husband Tom) Bohannon;
seven grandchildren, Zoe Bohannon, Gage Bohannon,
Luke and Lizzy Powell, Sophie Powell, Miley
Bohannon, and Will Powell; her beloved dog, Hazel;
and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, John and
Tom; sister, Pam; and her parents, William and
Dorothy.
Sherri graduated from Elkhart High School in 1971.
She later attended beauty school.
She retired after 25 years of service with the State
of Illinois Department of Agriculture, County Fairs
and Horseracing.
Sherri was of the Christian faith.
She enjoyed to go crafting with family and friends,
especially decorating for the holidays. Sherri loved
to read and travel. Spending time with family and
attending her grandchildren’s events were her
passions.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private graveside
services will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near
Williamsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be
made to American Cancer Society, Making Strides
against Breast Cancer.
