Obituary
Patricia S. "Pat"
Bree, 78, of Lincoln, passed away at her home
surrounded by her loving family on July 17, 2026.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, July 31,
2026, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, August
1, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will
follow in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Pat was born October 21, 1947, in Lincoln, IL., the
daughter of Hershel and Martha (Kaesebier) Walker.
She married Clarence R. "Bill" Bree on January 26,
1969. Pat graduated from San Jose High School in
1965 and Illinois State University with a degree in
Mathematics in 1969. She then taught math for
several years in East Peoria, Pontiac, West Lincoln,
and Chester East Lincoln. After her teaching career,
her love of numbers kept her busy with farm records
and as a bookkeeper and tax preparer for Charlie
Englehart, Jim Walden at the Scully Estates, and for
Klemm Tax Services. She also enjoyed serving in the
ladies ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was
active on the Board of the Lincoln Memorial Hospital
Auxiliary as Treasurer. Volunteer work brought her
much happiness, especially when she could serve
alongside her friends. |

Pat loved fashion and
was always well dressed. She enjoyed shopping and
decorating. Her home was adorned with decorations
for each holiday, and she especially loved
Christmas. Although she enjoyed shopping for
herself, she was also a fantastic gift giver and
always gave with joy. She made the very best
chocolate chip cookies- a skill she passed down to
her grandchildren who she loved dearly.
Survivors include her loving husband Bill Bree, her
son, Douglas Ray Bree, daughter-in-law, Alanna Bree,
grandchildren: Samuel Bree, Kendyl Bree, Ella Melei,
Owen Melei, Aiden Melei, and Liam Gay; son-in-law,
Joe Gay, her dearly loved feline companion, Smokey,
and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
brother, Terry Walker, and her beloved daughter,
Debra Bree.
Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran
Church, Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, or
Made a Masterpiece in honor of Pat who loved
supporting each of these organizations.
