[September 06, 2025]  LINCOLN - Barbara M. Phelps, 87, of Waynesville, passed away at the McLean County Nursing Home in Normal on September 3, 2025.

Visitation:  Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Waynesville United Methodist Church

Service:  Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the church.

Obituary

Barbara M. Phelps, 87, of Waynesville, passed away at the McLean County Nursing Home in Normal on September 3, 2025.

Services for Barbara will be held at the Waynesville United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Becky Barrow will officiate. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville.

Barbara M. West was born January 27, 1938, in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of Emmett L. West and Gertrude “Trudie” L. Mundy West White. She was united in marriage to Selby D. Phelps on August 8, 1957. Selby preceded Barbara in death on August 15, 2015.

Barbara is survived by three children: Sheila (Steve) Ford, Michael (Kim) Phelps, and Lisa Davis; nine grandchildren: Renee (John) Goddard, Rebecca (Joel) Pabst, Rachel Ford, Ashley (Eric) Bender, Lacy Phelps, Dylan (Meghan) Phelps, Tristan Davis, Jeremy (Stephanie) Nelson, and Angie (Josh) Gillespie; and 15 great-grandchildren: Stella, Gabriel, Noah, Elijah, Jolene, Ellis, Jaynie, Ella, Bentley, Kobe, Alex P., Alex N., Benny, Easton and Ava.

Barbara had worked at General Electric in Bloomington. She was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Memorials may be made to the Waynesville United Methodist Church.

Final Arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
