A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October
3, 2026 anytime from 11-3 at the Lincoln Park
District Recreation Center, 1400 Primm Rd in
Lincoln, IL
Obituary
James L. (“Jim”) Moore
passed on from this life, peacefully, on July 12,
2026, in Florida.
Jim was born on May 28, 1942, in Saint Genevieve,
MO. The son of Harold H. (Earl) Moore and Georgia E.
Henderson Moore. He grew up with four siblings;
Jane, Jerry and Judy and was lovingly raised by his
sweet mother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings
Jerry and Judy, and Grandson, Bradley.
He is survived by five daughters: Edie Moore Levine
of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Brenda (Mark) Buchweitz, of
Malabar, FL., Deanna Smith of Lincoln, Cindy Cryer
of Lincoln and Amy Cryer Shreve of Springfield, IL.,
12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 3
Great-Great Grandchildren.
Jim grew up in and spent a large portion of his
adult life in Lincoln, IL. He later moved to Florida
and in the last years of his life in the caring home
of his daughter, Brenda Buchweitz. He was also
lovingly cared for by his Great Granddaughter, Ciara
Tennison.
Jim worked at FS in Lincoln and later at Graue
Chevrolet. Jim was a social butterfly and loved
doing many activities. He was a member of the
Lincoln Lakes Boating and Beach Club and CB Club of
Lincoln as member “Chubby Checker”. You would find
Jim at the Logan Co. Fair tractor pulls and
demolition derby, Logan Lanes bowling alley, having
coffee before work at Mel-O-Cream doughnuts and
other coffee shops, at the Macon Co. Speedway,
fishing, playing cards, watching NASCAR and
socializing at many places and events in and around
Lincoln. Jim would include his daughters in his fun
and events taking them along.
Later, moving to Florida, he continued to be very
active and enjoyed more fishing, boating, playing
darts, riding his “Cricket”, playing cornhole, doing
yard work, spending time with his beloved pups, more
socializing and living life on his own terms. |
His wishes were honored and he
was cremated and laid to rest in an intimate, private
ceremony on July 27, 2026, in Malabar, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026
anytime from 11-3 at the Lincoln Park District Recreation
Center, 1400 Primm Rd. at the Pavilion next to the
playground and bathrooms. Please join us to remember him by
sharing stories, while enjoying hot dogs, sides, dessert,
drinks, and a few games of cornhole to honor his life.
We will always love him, remember him, and smile when we
think of him. I would say rest well, Dad, but we all know he
is not resting…even in his everlasting life! |
