Obituary
PThomas Lee Lyon, 72,
of Morgan City, AL, died Tuesday, October 20, 2026,
at Huntsville Hospital, surrounded by his close
family.
Mr. Lyon was born September 17, 1954, in Lincoln,
IL, to Charles and Ina (Tooley) Lyon. He was married
to Stella (Patti) Crosier Lyon for 42 wonderful
years.
He was a 1972 graduate of Lincoln Community High
School and received an associate degree from Lincoln
College in Lincoln, IL, where he was a pitcher for
the school baseball team.
A devoted mason, Tom laid brick and rock for 45
years, having learned the craft from his uncle, Jim
Crosier.
He enjoyed fishing with his son-in-law, Wil Barnett,
and watching Alabama football, the Chicago Bears,
the Cubs, Caitlin Clark, playing baseball and
westerns. He also shared a love of astrology and
gardening with his wife. Most of all, he cherished
spending time with his family and spoke with his
son, Ted, daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a
special brother-in-law, Tom Vincent.
Tom was known as a loving husband and a great father
to Angie (Carl), Ted, Mandy, LeAndra (Wil), and
Julie (Parker). He was a proud grandfather to 11
grandchildren: Taylor, Katelynn, Harvick, Allison,
Teddy, Jerry, Dre, Camille, Adelynn, Shepherd, and
Alaina; and a blessed great-grandfather to three
great-grandchildren: Aaron, Cassian, and Samuel.
He is also survived by his four siblings: Jo, Tim
(Loy), Judy (Jon), and Lisa. His family includes his
in-laws, Kathy Workman and Stanley (Jamie) Crosier;
a special uncle, Benny (Linda); his best friend,
Gary Winkel; and many close nieces, nephews, and
cousins. |

Per Tom’s request, he
will be cremated, and a private family picnic will be held
to celebrate his life. His ashes will be scattered at his
favorite fishing spot.
