Obituary
Paul Edward Rowland,
53, of Lincoln, passed away unexpectedly at his home
on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Paul was born on January 16, 1973, in Peoria,
Illinois, the son of Daniel J. and Mary Louise
(Lawrence) Rowland.
On March 9, 1996, Paul married the love of his life,
Brandy Foster. For more than 30 years, they built a
life together rooted in love, perseverance, and
devotion to their family. To say Paul adored Brandy
would be an understatement. In his eyes, the sun
rose and set on her. He was her biggest cheerleader,
always believing in her, supporting her, and
standing proudly by her side. His love for her was
unwavering, and there was never any question how
much she meant to him.
Above all else, Paul was a family man. He loved his
wife, children, and grandchildren fiercely. Life
didn’t always come easily, but Paul never stopped
fighting to build a better life for the people he
loved. No matter what challenges came his way, he
worked tirelessly to make sure his family had what
they needed. He was incredibly proud of how far he
had come, the man he had become, and the life he and
Brandy had built together. His greatest
accomplishments weren’t measured in material things,
but in the family he loved and the life he worked so
hard to give them.
Paul shared an incredibly special bond with his son,
Roo. The two spent much of their time together,
whether they were heading to the movies, running
errands, visiting the arcade, or simply enjoying
each other’s company. They shared a love of Marvel
movies, and Paul enjoyed watching Roo play video
games and taking an interest in the things that
brought his son happiness. More than anything, Paul
believed in Roo and was always encouraging him to
pursue his dreams and accomplish great things. Their
relationship was filled with love, laughter,
companionship, and countless everyday moments that
made their bond so special.
Being a grandfather was one of Paul’s greatest joys.
He absolutely adored his grandchildren, Huston and
Paisley Richardson, and spoiled them every chance he
got. He loved bringing Huston into the garage to
work on things together and couldn’t have been
prouder of his grandson’s love for hockey. Paul was
also a constant and loving presence in Paisley’s
everyday life, helping her on and off the school bus
and taking her to therapies. He wasn’t simply their
grandpa; he was part of their daily routines, their
happiest memories, and the moments that made them
feel loved. The bond he shared with his
grandchildren was something truly special.
Paul had a wonderful sense of humor and never missed
an opportunity to crack a joke or make someone
laugh.

He had an incredibly
generous heart and was the kind of man who would do
anything for anyone. Whether he was lending a
helping hand, fixing something for someone, or
taking dinner to neighbors, Paul showed his kindness
through his actions. He had a way of making people
feel cared for, often through the simplest gestures.
He enjoyed spending
time in his garage, working on projects, fishing,
and hunting. He found happiness in life’s simple
pleasures and took pride in being someone others
could count on.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Brandy
Rowland; his children, Tara (Dallas) Richardson and
Roo Rowland; his cherished grandchildren, Huston and
Paisley Richardson; his brother, Albert J. Rowland;
and his sister, Rebecca Hearn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Paul was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Peoria, Illinois.
Paul’s life was a testament to perseverance,
generosity, and the extraordinary love he had for
his family. He didn’t need a perfect life to make it
a meaningful one. He built something far more
valuable through his determination, his kindness,
and his unwavering devotion to those he loved.
He will be remembered in the laughter he brought to
others, the kindness he showed his neighbors, the
memories made watching Marvel movies with Roo, the
lessons shared with Huston in the garage, the
everyday moments spent caring for Paisley, and the
love he gave so completely to Brandy and his family.
Though his family would give anything for more time
with him, they will forever be proud of the man he
became, grateful for the life he worked so hard to
build, and honored to have been loved by him.
His absence will be felt in the everyday moments,
but his love will remain in every life he touched.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of
Paul’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family.
