[October 30, 2024]  DECATUR — Dorothy Ann (Gosda) Klockenga, 91, of Decatur passed away Wednesday October 30, 2024 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski.

Visitation: Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Decatur

Service: Noon on Monday at the church

Obituary

Dorothy Ann (Gosda) Klockenga, 91, of Decatur passed away Wednesday October 30, 2024 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski.

Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Decatur. Funeral services will follow at noon, at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Dorothy’s request for memorials is that donations should be given to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Camp CILCA, 4124 County Rd 4 1/2 W, Cantrall, IL 62625, instead of purchasing flowers in her honor.

Dorothy was born February 19, 1933, in Atlanta, the daughter of William A. and Lillian (Gimbel) Gosda. She married Darrell Klockenga on February 20, 1954, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2000.

Dorothy was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She loved working in her yard and kept it picture perfect. Dorothy was passionate about giving back to her community, enjoyed volunteering at McKinley Court, converting books to Braille through LSA, and loved delivering Meals on Wheels with her husband.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Nancy McGlade of Decatur, Lori Woodruff (John) of Charleston, IL; grandchildren: Brandi McGlade, Tiffany Snow (Kenneth), Sabrina Fawcett (Joe), Megan Woodruff; great grandchildren: Keaton Snow, Emmalynn Snow, Hudson Snow, Cameron McGlade, John Fawcett, Stella Fawcett; and sister, Rose Singley.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrell, and 11 brothers and sisters.
