2025, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Marilyn was born September 14, 1937, in Lincoln, IL,
the daughter of Lynn and Abigail (Wood) Chesnut. She
married Glenn Marten on June 29, 1958, in New

year.
Marilyn was a wonderful wife, supportive mother, and
loving grandmother. She was an avid quilter,
memorable educator, ice cream connoisseur, and a
savvy garage sale shopper. Spending winters in
Florida for 25+ years, going out to eat, and serving
as Glenn's “flea market assistant” were her favorite
things to do. She was strong in her faith as a
member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for 68 years.
Marilyn is also survived by her sons, Gary (Gail)
Marten and Kevin (Vicki) Marten; her five
granddaughters, Rebekah (Brandon) Westcott, Abigail
(Zachary) Swalley, Rachel Marten, Lesa (Mike)
Bradshaw, Anita Miller; thirteen
great-grandchildren, Elliot, Augustine, Gracyn,
Jonah, and Brooklyn, Marah (Dylan) Davis, Sarah
Penny, Sierra (Nick) Travis, Alyssa Stryker, Justin
(Elisabeth) Risner, Aaron (Cassie) Risner, Allen
Bradshaw, and Abigail (Nate) McMillan; and her
great-great-grandchildren, Daniel, Owen, Brandon,
Skylar, Grayson, Sandra Mae, Wesson, Rayne, and
Mason.
