Nancy Jean (Yates) Barrix, 91, passed
away 12:45 AM Monday, November 11, 2024, in her home
surrounded by her family.

date. McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, is in
care of the arrangements.
Nancy was born January 18, 1933, in Decatur, IL; the
daughter of William Omer and Frances Marian Lola
(Brooks) Yates. She married Harold Gene Barrix on
September 1, 1951, in North Pekin, IL. Nancy was a
retired Licensed Practitioner Nurse. Nancy was a
member of Church of Christ, Lincoln, IL. Nancy loved
to quilt and made a quilt for every child,
grandchild, great-grandchild and
great-great-grandchildren. Nancy and Harold had an
amazing garden every year and canned almost
everything. Nancy loved spending time with her kids,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Harold of 73
years; sons, John Barrix of Greenbrier, AR, Paul
Barrix of Pangburn, AR; daughters, Myra Dee Barrix
of Vincennes, IN, and Carla Hutchison of Beason;
sister, Patricia Threet of Hillsboro, TN;
grandchildren, Sonja Barger, Brian Hutchison, Kevin
Hutchison, James Barger, Amber Wininger, Joleena
(Mack) Young, Krista Barrix, Justin (Elizabeth)
Barrix, Kyle (Pearl) Barrix, Rachel Barrix;
great-grandchildren, Emma Hutchison, Hailey (Harry)
Splain, Gage and Gavin Hutchison, Tayleigh and
Charlotte Barger, Cinaya, Jaclyn and Jamaurian
Wininger, Avery, Daemen and Sierra Keen, Natiliee
Barrix, Braedan Young, Breanna (Brice) Cannon,
Easton Noren, and Sawyer Spracklen;
great-great-grandchildren, Oliver and Tommie Splain,
Hazeleigh Keen, Callen and Braelyn Young, and
Wrenleigh Cannon. |
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents,
son, Little Harold; brothers, Alan Yates, Thomas Yates and
Edward Yates; sisters, Wilma Rice, Sally Allen Yates,
Dorothy Lishock, Joanne Bandeko, Janet Williams, Dianna
Stone, Annette Jacobsen and great-great-granddaughter, Emmie.
