Ed and Tess had many great times visiting friends in Florida and playing golf together at El Paso Country Club. Ed was a big music fan, especially enjoying Elvis and the band Chicago with whom he actually got to meet in person.

Ed enjoyed golf, bowling and cards. He was a member of the Lincoln Knights of Columbus where he played on their basketball and softball teams and attained the rank of 4th Degree Knight. Ed could often be found at his favorite watering hole or gymnasium rooting vocally for this favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Chicago Bears, ISU Redbirds, Illinois Fighting Illini or Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers. He also refereed earlier in life and was never afraid to voice his opinion from the bleachers about calls he disagreed with.

Ed was a proud member of the HVC Golf Tour which played golf around Central Illinois every other Sunday. These guys remained a special part of his life even after his playing days had ended.

He was also very lucky to have a great group of lunch friends that made their way around Bloomington/Normal weekly at his favorite places, Times Past Inn, Cheeks, Lucca Grill, The Western Tap and Erin’s, just to name a few.
