Kruz Froebe, Brodie Glenn, Kale Singleton and Nolan Neitzel of West Lincoln Broadwell made history earlier by winning the golf sectional that was held at the Elks Club in Lincoln.

WLB is the first golf team from any junior high in Lincoln to make it to the state tournament. They are coached by Curtis Conrady.

Froebe, Glenn, Singleton and Neitzel advanced to the state tournament by beating teams from larger schools like Williamsville, Jacksonville, Springfield, Petersburg and Quincy, just to name a few.

Chester East-Lincoln and Lincoln Junior High were also in the same golf sectional.

There is only one class for golf, hence the tough competition state-wide.

Metamora Fields is a tough course. It is a narrow course and it is what is called a links course. It is wide open with no trees and has lots of tall grass and water hazards.
