Mount Pulaski tops Unity Christian 62-25

[November 20, 2024]  The Mount Pulaski girls opened their 2024-25 season at the Maroa-Forsyth Thanksgiving Tournament on Tuesday night and they were off to a quick start, walloping Decatur Unity Christian 62-25. 

 

Four Lady Toppers combined to sink ten 3s in the game.

Mount Pulaski got off to a quick start, leading 27-6 in the first quarter. Addison Brown and Elayna Marten each made two 3s in the opening quarter and Audrey Cooper also tossed in six points.

Claire Bobell added two 3s in the second quarter and along with six points from Alyson Murphy, the Lady Toppers built a 40-11 lead at the half.

Murphy had a great third quarter, contributing ten points and that included two 3s. Brown and Bobell each tossed in another three to send the score higher, 58-23.

Mackenzie Johnston and Piper Tyson each tossed in fourth quarter buckets and the Lady Toppers marched to victory by a final score of 62-25.

Alyson Murphy led Mount Pulaski with 20 points.

Elayna Marten hit double figures with 11 points.

The ladies are back in action at 5:30 p.m. tonight in the tournament.
