WLB girls going to State in Cross
Country

The West Lincoln Broadwell Girls Cross Country team has
qualified for the 2026 Class 1A State Cross Country Meet.
The team consists of ten athletes and seven of them will race at
9:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Maxwell Park in Normal.
The seven runners competing on Saturday are: Piper Craig, Sofia
Farmer, Rowynn Fink, Falyn Farmer, Kennedy Dare, Lillian Rademaker
and Audrina Wilson.
There are three alternates on the team and they are Addison Sheley,
Claire Clements and Brooklyn Clark.
Angela Craig, who is in her third year coaching the WLB runners,
said she had high hopes this little team could make it to State and
even though she uses the word “little” this is her biggest team yet.
A total of eleven girls and five boys make up the team.
“Our entire team qualified,” said Craig. “We placed third as a team
(at the Eastview sectional) and the top three teams make it. We
scored 56 points as a team and the first and second place teams tied
with 55 points. They had to go to their sixth runner’s time for the
tie breaker. The top five of a team score the points.”
Piper Craig, an eighth grader, leads the way for the Lady
Wolverines. Craig finished in fourth place at sectionals with a time
of 13:15.5 and she is going for the three-peat at State.
Sofia Farmer finished in seventh place at sectionals and she is just
a sixth grader. Farmer ran the two-mile course in 13:27.2.
Completing the Lady Wolverines successful showing of top ten
finishes is seventh grader Rowynn Fink. Fink’s time was 13.37.5 and
this is her second appearance at State.

Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet.
