Fifth Street Road Update
[July 18, 2026]
The contractors have made good
progress with the Fifth Street Road Project. Utility relocation
continues to take place along with widening of the road from
Connolley Road west to Interstate 55. They have also been joint
sealing, backfilling, grading and other restoration work. Milling
and paving operations are scheduled to begin the first part of next
week from Connolley Road west. Once the utilities have been
relocated near Westminster, Memorial Park Road and Holly Drive, work
will begin again to install storm sewer. As work continues, please
be patient and use extreme caution when traveling in the area.
