CAPCIL Awarded $25,000 grant from The Woods Foundation

[November 26, 2025]

Lincoln, IL – Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) is proud to announce it has been awarded a generous $25,000 grant from The Woods Foundation to support the Workcamp for Lincoln Project 2026. These funds will be used directly for the purchase of materials and supplies needed to complete critical home repair projects for residents throughout Logan County.

The Woods Foundation was made possible through the generosity of Robert J. Woods and Joan Jarrett Woods, who established and funded The Woods Foundation to carry on their long history of philanthropy. Their commitment to supporting meaningful community-based initiatives continues to create lasting impact.

The Workcamp for Lincoln Project, a collaborative community initiative, brings hundreds of youth and adult volunteers to Lincoln to complete essential repair work on the homes of residents. Typical repair projects include painting, porch and ramp repairs, basic weatherization, and other safety- and accessibility-focused improvements—all at no cost to the homeowner.

With an expected 300+ volunteers participating in the 2026 Workcamp, CAPCIL is working diligently to identify and prepare qualifying project sites across the county. Thanks to the support of partners like The Woods Foundation, CAPCIL can ensure that materials are available to complete dozens of home repairs that will significantly improve safety, accessibility, and quality of life for local residents.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Woods Foundation for their generous support,” said CAPCIL Chief Visionary Officer Breann Titus. “Their support helps ensure that families in Logan County receive the repairs and improvements they need to live safely and comfortably in their homes. This funding plays a vital role in strengthening our neighborhoods and uplifting our community.”
