Lincoln Christian Church Hosts Light the Night

[November 02, 2026]  Lincoln Christian Church kicked off Halloween weekend with Light the Night on Friday evening. The rain held off, making for a pleasant fall evening.

First responders from around the county were on hand for Touch a Truck and a “meet and greet” with children while handing out candy to each one. City of Lincoln Police, Logan County Sheriff, Logan County Paramedics Association, Lincoln Rural Fire Department, Elkhart Fire and Rescue, and Middletown Fire Department were lined up in the church parking lot with their lights shining brightly and ready to greet visitors, teach them about their trucks and jobs, and hand out those Halloween treats. Some of the crews were even dressed in costumes.

As the lights shone brightly from each vehicle, families lined up, waiting for their turn.

Children wore costumes; some were dressed as classic Halloween characters like witches and ghosts, while others were dressed as Pokémon characters, Dr. Seuss characters, and superheroes.

While candy was the main item children were seeking, they also lined up to receive goodie bags with flashlights, activities, candy, and firefighter helmets. Brew 66 was also on hand to grab a hot coffee, hot chocolate, or cider to warm up with.
