Lincoln Community Theatre opens new Christmas show this week

[November 26, 2025]  Lincoln Community Theatre is bringing Christmas cheer to Lincoln this season with their first LCT Christmas Extravaganza. The LCT Christmas Extravaganza features Christmas carols, choreography, and comedy with local actors reprising favorite roles from previous seasons. The show goes up Thanksgiving weekend with evening performances on Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on November 30 at 2 p.m. at Lincoln Community High School.

Conceived and directed by Tim Searby, Searby had a vision of creating a family-friendly Christmas season opener akin to the popular Christmas in the Chapel performed every year at the now-closed Lincoln Christian University. Searby recalls families and churches, both local and out-of-town, beginning their holidays by attending a Christmas show together. He also remembers employers purchasing tickets as gifts for employees to attend together with their families. Searby wanted to fill the gap left in Lincoln by Christmas in the Chapel with a new offering.

The LCT Christmas Extravaganza begins at a Christmas party with popular songs and dancing, which becomes a reunion of the Little Sisters of Lincoln and the Little Brothers of Possum Hollow with more Christmas music and dancing. The show concludes with a rousing Christmas carol sing-along and an invitation to the audience to join in. Searby says, “From enchanting Christmas Carols in new arrangements to beloved melodies from classic movies and stage productions, this show promises to be a delightful escapade filled with beautiful voices, whimsical antics and a heartwarming celebration of love, joy, and friendship.”
