reopens search for executive director
Board seeks community-minded leader to
help shape the future of tourism in Logan County

LINCOLN, Ill. — The Logan
County Tourism Bureau is reopening its search for an Executive
Director and inviting local leaders, professionals and
community-minded candidates to consider helping lead the
organization into its next chapter.
The Bureau previously extended an offer to a selected candidate, who
ultimately declined the position after receiving an unexpected
opportunity to pursue a longtime career goal.
“We see this as an opportunity to take another look at the talented
people we have right here in Logan County and the surrounding area,”
said Logan County Tourism Bureau Board President Molly Pickering.
“We’re looking for someone who can tell Logan County’s story through
great writing and marketing, build strong relationships with our
communities and partners, pursue grants and other funding
opportunities, and manage the day-to-day finances and operations of
the Bureau. It’s a hands-on role with a lot of variety and a real
opportunity to be creative and make things happen.”
The Executive Director will work closely with businesses,
attractions, community organizations and local leaders throughout
Logan County to strengthen tourism, develop partnerships and promote
the communities and experiences that make the county distinctive.
Candidates don’t need to come from the tourism industry to be the
person the Bureau is looking for. While tourism experience is
welcomed, the Board also encourages candidates with backgrounds in
marketing, communications, economic or community development,
nonprofit leadership, fundraising, events, small business,
hospitality or related fields to consider applying.
The new Executive Director will join the Bureau at an important
time, with a new strategic plan under development and continued
grant funding opportunities associated with Route 66, community
revitalization and destination development.

The position
offers a salary range of $45,000–$52,000, along with a monthly
health insurance stipend, generous paid vacation and holidays,
and the possibility of a partially remote work schedule.
Applications will be accepted through October 9, but the Board
will begin reviewing candidates as applications are received.
